The price of a cup of coffee

The price of a cup of coffee – that’s what keeps us up and running.

Coffee used to be 10 cents. It was hot and strong and came in one flavor; coffee. That was a long time ago – another lifetime. Now, coffee comes in a galaxy of flavors and combinations – and you would be hard pressed to leave the average Starbucks, Peet’s or Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, or any one of the thousands of coffee joins springing up all over the country, for less than $6.00 – a lot of times more.

Why am i dragging up the subject of coffee? Well, if you’re a regular coffee drinker, you probably lay out anywhere from $6.00 to $15.00 a day getting caffeinated. Now, I’m not asking you to go without coffee for a day – that would be insane. And I don’t want to be responsible for the caffeine withdrawals I would cause by suggesting that request. But I am asking if you could buy one less cup of coffee, and toss that over to us so we can keep Past Daily up and running for another year.

Bargain? I would say so. If all the people who have stopped by Past Daily and visited (and at last count it was somewhere around a million), listened and downloaded any or all of the 6,000 and growing posts we have online and kicked in $6.00, it would be staggering.

That’s all we ask. If everybody chipped in $6.00 (all tax-deductible, of course), in order to make sure Past Daily was up and running and we were able to continue preserving and restoring the thousands of hours of priceless and historic audio we provide for you, we could stop right now.

We’re trying to make things happen – we’re trying to provide all the interesting (and not so interesting) bits of history that have shaped and influenced our lives, whether we knew it or not at the time. There’s also all the Pop-Culture. Those Top-40 stations from the 1950s and 60′ you like? They have to be restored and preserved before I can offer them to you. And that takes time and money.

So what I need from you is to consider – just consider, making a donation, a contribution that can be as large as you want or as small as you can afford so in order for us to keep this going and keep giving you all the best and the rarest and most interesting we have to give. And we do it every day.

If you could – please click on the link right here: (Past Daily’s Fall Fundraiser) and make a difference. We’ve just finished our first week and we’re doing really well, and I am so grateful to all of you who have contributed so far – you are loved and appreciated, from the bottom of our hearts.

Now, if we could just convince you; the ones sitting on the fence . . . . .
